Detailed Arbitration Process

  • Requirements for submitting an application:

    The applicant must have already made an effort to reach a resolution with the provider (e.g., customer service);

    No court or arbitration tribunal should be dealing with the matter;

    The postal service provider must be willing to provide information to the Arbitration Board.

  • Submission

    You may print and send the form, along with all necessary documents, by post to the address provided or submit it directly online.

  • Fee

    The arbitration process will commence only after the mandatory fee of CHF 20.00 has been paid.

  • Process Overview

    Upon receipt of the fee and the completed form, the Arbitration Board will verify its juris-diction and assess the admissibility of the application.


    Applications that are clearly abusive will be rejected.

    Incomplete submissions cannot be processed. In such cases, the conciliator will request the missing information. If this is not provided, the application will not be considered.

    The arbitration process follows the procedural rules set out in the Regulations.

    Deadlines and Statutory Limitations:

    Referring a case to the Arbitration Board does not interrupt or suspend any legal deadlines, such as limitation periods, forfeiture periods, or judicial or administrative deadlines.
    It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that all relevant deadlines are observed.

    Data Protection and Confidentiality:

    The Arbitration Board adheres to strict data protection standards and is bound by official confidentiality. It may process the personal data of the parties only as necessary to fulfil its role.
